WHY do people take birth control pills?
Well, birth control can be taken either to help prevent pregnancy OR some people are given it to help stabalize their hormone levels. If someone has an irregular period or slight depression, they may perscripe birth control pills. Although I do not completely agree with this practice, many doctors do this. But the most common reason is because it is shown to be more effective against preventing pregnancy. However while it is more effective, it is not 100% guarenteed you will not get pregnant. Also believe it or not alot of men and women are allergic to the latex in condoms so birth control is the route to go for them. Just a lil bit of info.
