Why do people study mythology?
The study of mythology lets people see how other cultures explain (or did explain) something that they cannot understand. Most myths revolve around natural phenomena that were not explained until “modern” science came onto the scene. If you look, most polytheistic religions changed when people started figuring out why things happen or how different things work (why the sun rises, why it rains/snows, where thunder and lighting come from). Myths teach lessons and morals, as well as cultural behaviors. They serve many purposes and they can entertain at the same time!
