Why do people stay in abusive relationships?
There are several reasons why people would stay in abusive relationships. For the woman, she could be afraid to leave because of her abusor’s threats. She can also be attached to the abuse because it’s all she knows. It may make her feel as if he truly loves her. For a man, it could also be an unhealthy attachment and maybe he’s afraid to leave because he’s not secure inside to find another partner. Many adults become used to it, fear it or are have learned patterns from parents or other family members that haves them believe that it’s normal or okay to be abused.
