Why do people snore while sleeping?
The most common causes for snoring whilst sleeping are as follows: having narrow nasal passages, or sleeping in such a way that narrows the nasal passages; obesity and a lack of fitness, which narrows the nasal passages; heredity; certain medications and alcohol, which relax the throat and make snoring easier; and allergies or other sinus problems, such as a deviated septum. A way to decrease snoring while sleeping is by sleeping on the side instead of sleeping on the back, or by using a firmer pillow (soft pillows contort the neck in such a way as to narrow the nasal passage, and thus enhance snoring). Hope this helps. Take care and God Bless!
