Why do people say Ronald Reagan was so great?
The Republicans need a hero. Bush blew it so they can’t use him. The public has a short memory and many can’t put together what he did then with the problems that we are having today. Reagan was known for his charm, wit and oratory skills. That’s what so many people remember about him so that’s what the Republicans have latched on to. Even I have some fond memories of him but I don’t consider him to be a great president. The signs of Alzheimer’s were too obvious to ignore during his second term so I’m not surprised that there were signs during his first term. My mother had Alzheimer’s and I lived and cared for her from the early signs until her death in 2000. I know this disease and I see possible early signs in McCain. That’s ONE of the reasons I’m voting for Obama.
