Why do people refer to the URI as a chaordic organization?

0

People say that the URI is a chaordic organization because its principles and organizational design that flow from these principles intend to create an organization with special “chaordic” characteristics and values. These “chaordic” principles and the organizational structures that derive from them were introduced to the URI by a consultant, Dee Hock. Dee Hock is the founder and CEO emeritus of VISA international. He pioneered innovative concepts in chaordic organizational design with VISA and later, advanced his philosophy of chaordic organization in order to make these ideas available to a broad audience. Dee Hock and his colleagues from the Chaordic Alliance were employed by the URI for 2 ½ years to develop a system of organizing, now in use, that gave accurate expression to the vision and values voiced by early URI participants. This system was discussed by hundreds of early participants in the URI who participated in evaluation and approval processes.
