Why do people protest against globalisation?

0

While globalisation is good for most people, there are some people who lose out. For workers, those who work in sunset industries lose out due to globalisation and thus lobby for the enactment of trade barriers and say that gloablisation “steal jobs” from “hardworking individuals”. For culture, some minority find their language and culture being forgotten, replaced with popular culture like Japanese Pop or Westernisation. These people thus protest against against the “degrading effect” of globalisation. People tend to protest whenever their interests are perceived as being harmed, so no surprise why there are people who protest against globalisation. I am sure that if the same people find that their industries are benefiting from globalisation or that globalisation allowed the spread of their culture across the world then they would be the first people to welcome the arrival of globalisation!
