Why do people on welfare get money back at income tax time?
People who didn’t work at all do NOT get money back at tax time. If they collected welfare, but also worked sometime during the year, then they might. The only way to get money back at tax time without working at all during the year is to file a fraudulent return. If that’s done, with a little luck the IRS will catch it and the person will be penalized.
