Why do people in the Uk automatically stereotype American girls?
This is hilarious – someone asks a question and it starts a slanging match proving that Americans and Brits are as bad as each other. At the end of the day people (in general) will love their country and quite rightly so but as unfortunate as it is there will always be stereotyping unless everyone on the planet suddenly decides to be more open minded. You have to remember that people form stereotypes based on their experiences and more often than not the stereotype cannot be applied to any one group because people are so wonderfully diverse! In all honesty I don’t mind Americans, Australians, Africans or anyone from anywhere else in the world – if I am shown respect and consideration then the same will be forthcoming to you. Yes, even I have a sterotypical image of some countries and cultures but am always pleased when I am proven wrong. You can’t blame everything on television but have to say that some shows (such as the OC) do portray American teens in a less than flattering light at
