Why do people have infants ears pierced?
Well I think they do it for two reasons. One reason is because they think it looks good. Which I agree that is does look cute, but I don’t think that I would get my hypothetical daughters ears pierced because it would be unnecessary pain for her to have to go through. The second reason I think they do it is to further feminize their daughters. I mean a very high percentage of women have pierced ears and wear earrings, it is something that is considerd by many to be distinctly femimine (for both ears anyway and to have traditional earrings in them, not the unisex ear plugs). Think about it, when someone finds out that someone they know is pregnant the first thing they always ask is “is it a boy or a girl?” and sometimes it is hard to tell what sex a baby is unless they are wearing very sexed clothes (pink and frilly or blue and basic).
