Why do people hate Pet stores so much?
First, pet stores don’t give a damn who you are, or whether or no your responsible, they just want people money, they sell animals to people who often can’t afford them or take care of them properly and they then often take them to a shelter. Second, animals in pets stores often come from puppy mills (look it up if you don’t know), store employees can’t be 100% sure where the animals have come from and if they have been responsibly breed ad taken care of (who knows what diseases they carry or illnesses affect them), these animals travel long distances to reach the stores in crowded, unsanitary conditions, with no food, water, or breaks. Third, yes, by buying a an animal from a store you may be “saving” it, but there are two negatives to this form of saving 1) by buying you are helping support, with this animal “saved” more will come in to be “saved” 2)by buying you are potentially killing an animal, had you adopted rather than bought you would have removed an animal from a shelter, the
