Why do people from Norway/Iceland claim racial purity?
Wow, “most” Icelanders and Norwegians claim racial purity? Weird, I live in Iceland and haven’t heard a single person here brag about their racial purity. Either you are hanging out with a strange bunch of people or pulling “facts” out of your rear. I can’t speak for Norway, but there really has been a lot less racial/ethnic mixing in Iceland than in most other countries in the world. There is a very simple explanation for that. Iceland is an island far out on the Atlantic Ocean. For the first thousand years or so that Iceland was inhabited, it was extremely isolated, because it wasn’t easy to get to other countries. There were no airplanes, just rather small, wooden ships. Due to the vicious weather and the huge, wild ocean all around Iceland, ocean travel was very dangerous and only possible for a very short period each summer.
