Why do people do senseless acts of vandalism?

0

Some people are angry and release that anger or angst with vandalism and get a rush of power, or it makes them feel dominant over something. It’s all psychological reasons. People act out in certain ways, and vandalism is just one of many. Tagging, or graffiti, is not senseless by definition because it is done as a territorial reason. When someone keys a car, it is for envious/jealous reasons. Throwing a rock at a window, breaking bottles, kicking or punching holes in a wall, knocking over trash cans, etc,. These are examples of senseless vandalism, because there is no apparent reason or benefit other than feeling powerful or dominant.
