Why do people continue to answer factual questions when they have already been competently answered?
A lot of people do not read all the other answers when they answer a question. The see a question to which they know the answer and they answer it. There is no need for people to get annoyed about it .I tend to ask factual questions and I certainly do not get upset if I get a lot of answers the same . A correct answer is a correct answer.
