Why do people build in dangerous places, like on fault lines or flood plains?
Some people like living on the edge. Not only do they live in dangerous places but they lead dangerous lifestyles too. When people are encouraged by government to rebuild in flood zones it makes you wonder about the mentality in charge. It’s often cheaper to live on the edge so for economic reasons some are forced to do so. Maybe it improves their status to have that mansion on the hill even when they know the hill could fall. Some think they can challenge nature and win. Others live this way because they believe they have no recourse.
