Why do people assume that every white American has family ties to Slavery?
It is not so much that we slavery only occurred 300+ years ago in America. Slavery from the continent of Africa started thousands of years ago. If you do a real study of Biblical text, you will see evidence of slavey there as well. Before slavery in America, Spain, Portugal, and other countries were utilizing African slaves, long before it became a commodity in America. The most horrendous acts of slavery occurred, however, in the Americas. When individuals relate to slavery, although you may trace your roots back to the Roman empire and England, ours go back there as well, and before that. We trace our lineage back to Ethiopia before the Kemetic period which became the period we now identify as the “Western Culture”. Kemet, or Egypt was the beginning of what we now call the “written history” era, before “Christ”.
