Why do people associate “Hippies” with “Tree-Huggers?”?
Much of the environmental movement began in the 60’s. The legislative stuff happened ten to twenty years later. Much of it has to do with the concept of activism, and power of people to change government. “tree-huugers” and “hippies” are definitely connected, but not so much with drugs. Response to additional details: I don’t know. I’d rather kids play the hippie lifestyle and get active in their world around them. There are definetely worse choices.
