Why do passengers wear suits on airline flights?
This may just be a hunch but I think people in suits believe they’ll get better customer service from the airplane staff or get treated better in general. But the odds are that they are traveling someplace where they won’t have an opportunity to change, and they’ll be greeted by people from their work and they can’t show up in jeans and a tee-shirt.
