Why do ostriches and chickens have wings when they cant fly?
Chickens can fly, although they rarely bother unless you’re trying to catch them! Ostriches can’t fly but they have lost that ability at some stage in the evolutuinary process. There is a bird called a Kiwi in New Zealand that also does not fly, it is believed that because it had no predators it did not need to fly and the ability became obsolete.
