Why do objects have weight?
I’m afraid that you will not receive a real answer to your question. It is one of those fundamental things in Physics that just happens to be the case. An attractive force exists between any pair of bodies who are near enough to influence each other. This force is called gravity, and it exists proportional to the product of the two masses in question. It is also inversely proportional to the square of the separation of the two objects. This combination of proportionality produces Newton’s law of gravitation. You cannot really explain why objects have weight other than that.
