Why do Northern Americans constantly use derogatory, stereotypical comments to describe Southern Americans?
Europeans are most like Northern Americans and therefore make fun of Southerners who are not like them. I have to admit, I’m from the North, and most people here don’t think to highly of the South and their background. I understand that there are some very fine people there like yourself, but it was also the home of the KKK and the traitors that seceded to form the Confederacy. Some southerners even seem proud of it. South Carolina still uses the Confederate Flag as their state flag. In conclusion, its unfair and unjustified, but Southerners are looked down on by the North and Europeans.
Northern Italy has fun with Southern Italy. English in the South laugh at those in the North. In France, Parisians positively puke should they even mention people from Marseilles. Polar Bears in the Arctic have never heard of Penguins in the Antarctic so the matter doesn’t arise. However, they are worried about their shrinking ice flows. Now, there is something we could all get together to do something about.
