Why do news headlines report abusive women under the weird or odd sections?
Sensationalism. Feminacentrism pays. So the media capitalizes on that. I bet my bottom dollar this is what budding journalists wanting to start their own newspaper discuss: “If we focus on women (as victims, not criminals), we’re bound to get our newspaper through the roof. But a newspaper that has male victims as focus is going to find subscribers hard to come by. So is a news channel, a magazine, anything.” The best way to make money as a mediaperson is to be gynocentric. ————————— —————————— ——————————— Jack Kammer hits the nail on the head as far is this issue is concerned (page 83-89 in the book): http://www.fatherland.info/docs/if-men-h… He quotes some examples: – For a story on August 5, 1987, reporting that 3416 men were slain at work – 82% of all at-work killings – USA Today used the headline “732 women were murdered on the job”
