My husband is Turkish and I have a Native American background myself. I’ve often brought up similarities in language, art, religion and culture to him. If you take a look at “common” words like “mother” or “father”, you will see they are surprisingly similar. Likewise, if you compare their religious beliefs in animism/shamanism, you will see they are quite alike.. Their belief in a one, primary God figure, oftentimes being the Great Blue Sky, and the living spirits in all of creation.. (just Google “Tanri” which is the ancient Turkic god, and compare to the “Wakan Tanka” of the Dakota/Lakota tribes) You can also note the similarities in dwellings, with Turkic/Mongolian style yurts and Native American homes. Same with their art.. Simply look at the weaving techniques of the natives of the Southwest and compare it to Turkomen abstract rugs. You can also look at art further south in Latin/Central America, which is very similar to art in the Pacific Northwest, which is very similar to Tibe
