Why do my Turtle Beach X41 have to buttons, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic?

0

When the Dolby Digital LED is on, it means the X41 is processing a 5.1 or 7.1 audio signal from the optical digital input. This is the mode where you can hear true surround sound on the wireless headset. When the Dolby Pro Logic IIx LED is on, it means the X41 is processing Pro Logic virtual surround sound, which derives extra channels to simulate surround sound. This makes stereo signals sound better, but isn’t true surround like Dolby Digital 5.1/7.1. Note that if the BYPASS button is lit, the dolby effects are turned off and you’re hearing stereo. To hear the difference between Dolby and stereo, just press this button on and off and you can compare the two modes.
