Why do “My Patterns” increase the size of my Xpression even if Im not using them in any of my scenes?

Once you have defined a pattern, Kahootz 2.0 will continue to save the pattern even if it is not used anywhere in your Xpression. If you are running Kahootz 2.0.4 or better, you can use the Pattern Manager plug in to delete these unused patterns from your Xpression (see Subject 12 below).
