Why do my fish hide when i get close to my tank?

It can take some species of fish time to become fimiliar or at least less fearfully of a potentialy large predator lurking around the aquarium but in this case I believe the danios are the problem. Danios are great, active, hardy fish but they are very hyper and can nip or chase other species regardless of the fact that the cardinals are also schooling fish. Cardinal hail from the mighty Amazon while danios can be found in India so they only encounter each other in our fish tanks. What I find interesting (of course I’m a fish nerd) is that neon tetras and cardinal tetras are actually quite bold in the comfort of their Amazonian waters. I have spoken to collecters and icthyologists that have snorkled with both species and they said that if you remain relatively still these fish actually will swim right around you. In fact I was told that they will even nibble on a person, I imagine out of curiousity but who knows. If you really like your cardinals (one of my favorites) I would consider
