Why do Muslims insist on importing Arab desert sandstorm fashion into the West?
That’s a bit of a generalisation. I’m sure there are some Indonesian girls that wear a face veil because after all the face veil is not culture it is actually part of religion. I think you’ve understood that different parts of the Muslim world wear different styles of jilbaabs/hijabs. Arabs of North Africa prefer bright colours with patterns, and sometimes even wear Western clothes rather than traditional ones. Gulf Arabs prefer the all black and many of them wear the full face veil too. Yes there are no sandstorms in the West, but that is not the purpose of those type of clothing, which I think you are already aware of. And yes chivalry may be more present in the West but it is not just worn so that they are not stared at by men. but rather because they want to emulate the dress code of the first women of Islam because they admire them.
