Why do Muslims, circle around black stones in mecca?
Muslims do not circle around black stones in Mecca. In the Holy Mosque in Mecca, there is a building called the Kaaba. It is actually a temple built of dark stone (not black). The Kaaba used to be open for everybody to pray inside but then with the huge increase of the number of pilgrims and in order to protect them, it was closed and people started praying around it. In the Islamic tradition, the Kaaba was the first temple built to worship God on the face of the earth and since the days of Adam or before. Over centuries, it had to be reconstructed a number of times as it deteriorated because of floods, earthquakes and natural disasters. The place was re-built by Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael and since that time, people made regular pilgrimages to Mecca every year until now. When a pilgrim arrives in Mecca first time, part of the rituals of the Pilgrimage is circling 7 times around the Kaaba. While doing that, one should be praying to God, praising Him, asking for His forgiveness
