As a person who used to play a lot of recitals and programs, being able to have your own portable music stand is quite useful. I usually played the flute, so I had to have a separate case to carry my music stand. I always liked to have a stand for my instrument as well so I wouldn’t worry about it getting knocked over or damaged. Also, one has a case for the instrument to protect it. Most music stores carry them.
