Why do movie critics always seem to think differently than the people themselves?

Critics have a tendency to take apart a movie and critique it based on tons of things as opposed to seeing and judging the movie based on its entertainment value. Audiences, however, go and see a movie for entertainment and not to pick it apart which is why there is often a disparity between what the critics say about a movie and what audiences say. Personally, I rarely agree with critics because they are watching the movie for a different reason than most people that watch movies. I go to see a movie not based on critic’s opinions but on the fact that I may enjoy it. To get a better gauge of a movie, you should go to Rotten Tomatoes because all the critiques on the movies are done by regular viewers so I feel like it’s more honest and in line with what the general audience feels about the movie.
