Why do most of the homeopaths in Pakistan refuse to give names of the medicines they prescribe?
Every patient has a right to know what he is being prescribed. In some cases, however, it may be to patients own interest if the homoeopath withholds the name of the remedy. However, if the patient insists, the homeopath should readily oblige him, informing him of the possible impediments and difficulties caused by unnecessary repetitions or too long ingestion. If a homeopath withholds the name of the remedy, despite a request by the patient, that can be for considerations other than the patients well-being. Either the homeopath lacks confidence in what he prescribes or fears the patient would dump him. The homeopath-patient relationship should be one of mutual trust and regard for each others responsibilities, obligations and interests.
