Why do most Muslims ignore the problems that are prominent in their communities such as honour killings?
Well this is a very legit question and the criticism is unbiased. I’ve wondered the same many times over now. The main thing is that this happens as these ignorant Muslims; allow their cultures to dominate over their religion. This comes from the general lack of education, in the Muslim world. This is indeed ironic, as the first of the Koran to be revealed was READ, but the Muslim world, in general, have soaring illiteracy rates. Education civilises a man, so an uneducated man is more likely to be violent than an educated one. No doubt both can commit crimes, but the nature of crime will differ greatly: an uneducated man is more likely to be charged with assault (brute force) while the educated man is more likely to be charged with fraud. As the level of education, in the society increases so too increases the level of tolerance and secularism.
