Anything else aside, it’s quite common for homeschooled teenagers to take college classes while they’re still technically in high school. I started taking classes at 15, as did several of my friends. And since they tend to take classes for a long time (in some cases they take classes long enough to have their Associate’s degree by the time they’re 18) when they enter college full-time they have a huge advantage over their peers who might not have taken actual college courses before. Their level of familiarity with the way college works could be enough to give them an advantage over their peers who are coming in straight out of high school with no prior college experience.
