Why do most freeware and games only run on application-unlocked Smartphones?
That’s because developers are required to pay significant fees in order to get the digital signatures that allow their applications to run on application-unlocked (i.e. secured) Smartphones. Most independent game and freeware developers cannot afford to pay those signature fees. Also, code signature requires that developers have a real registered company/business. Many independent game and freeware developers don’t have one.
