Why do Memory foam mattresses vary so much in price?
Where do we start to explain this! All markets are complex – but here are our views:- 1. One of the major factors is the cost of brand, image and full advertising. Advertising in international/national publications/ radio/ TV is extremely expensive. You will find that the higher profile companies charge more for their products in order to recoup these investments.. 2. Some companies offer memory foam mattresses at an attractive price but cut back on their core products specifications to keep their prices down and their profits up. For example, ensure that the covering fabric is a “two way” stretch fabric allowing the foam to move and is made substantially enough to stand up to the wear that it will get over the years. Can the cover be removed for cleaning if needed? 3. Is there an adequate depth of high-density memory foam on the mattress?
