Why do married people have “their side of the bed”?
Habit I guess after the first few days of marriage, but then there are the clocks to set, medication to take, personal items to find in your bedside drawers etc. Mind you, when I don’t go to bed – there are times like tonight ‘cos I fell asleep all evening after a hard day in the garden – when my wife floats around our bed like a piece of silk caught on the incoming tide. I’ve been told it’s something to do with the movement of the earth and the pull of the moon. It’s strange that although the bed is east to west facing her body positions seem to follow the seasonal variations of the rising sun.
