Why do many growers think that the weather is an important factor in getting higher yields?
The weather affects the hormonal balance of the plant. Farmers are not very concerned with the outcome of traditional fertilizers on their crops. They reduce the amount of fertilizer when cost reduction is necessary. However, most farmers do not reduce the usage of fungicides and insecticides, which are weather related. Therefore, the average farmer does not feel as strongly about a plants nutritional programme.
