Also, in a solar eclipse you don’t get to see the whole eclipse; the path of totality is several thousand miles long, but only a couple of hundred miles wide. You only get to see a small part. For a lunar eclipse, you’re here on the Earth, looking up – you DO get the see the entire eclipse.
