Why do Liberals compare “Gay Rights” to the Black Civil Rights?
Yes, it is offensive. Gay Americans have the right to vote, protest, speedy trial, fair trial etc etc etc that Black Americans had, but were not protected, after the end of Reconstruction until the time of the Civil Rights movement. That is not remotely equivalent to not being allowed to marry the spouse of one’s choice or some other supposed right that they claim to have. whale They are not similar in any aspect whatsoever. Blacks were denied fundamental rights that they had the Constitutional right to, they were not asking for rights that they did not have. Blacks had these rights according to the US Constitution and several levels of government were forsaking their duties to protect the rights of blacks.
