Why do land owners adjacent to small cemeteries want to encroach in and destroy them?

How many are left? LAWS “Aren’t there laws to protect cemeteries?” Yes, there are simple laws to protect cemeteries. Some states have better laws than others. But too often the law is not enforced, especially when it comes to these small pioneer cemeteries. In Wayne County, 25 pioneer cemeteries are all that remain, in various degrees of desecration.
