Why do koreans add english phrases to their songs?
If you hear enough songs from different cultures, you’re likely going to find quite a good number of them to feature some phrases in a different language other than the native one it’s sung in. Monty Python once had a song in English that included a few simple Chinese phrases. I’ve also heard a Vietnamese song once with some Cantonese lyrics in the middle, a few Cantonese songs with English, Japanese and Chinese phrases, and a couple of Japanese songs with Chinese in it. Even India does it, as the person above me said. I think it’s really just a way to spice up their music, making it more interesting to listen and sing to. English is a language that a lot of people are quite familiar with. If you want to get technical, these special phrases probably also help you remember a song better, because these words stand out from the rest and they stick to your mind.
