Why do kids in old movies sound like old ladies?
In some old movies, I mean REALLY old movies that are in black and white, the kids voices were actually revoiced by old ladies. There was an article about it on the IFC a few weeks ago and I remember reading about it a few years ago. Apparently, some of the child actors and actresses from that era of movies had very pronounced accents and weren’t intelligible. That’s the best reason that I can come up with.
