Why Do Kids Camps for Orphans and Vulnerable Children?
A Kids Camp is a time when orphans and vulnerable children get to leave behind the worries of their world. It is a time when they get to hear and experience God. It is a time of fun and friendships. It is a time of victory, breakthrough and community. If you went to a camp as a kid, think about those precious memories and the friendships made. Think about how you could hear God speaking into your life in a real and powerful way. Let’s face it: retreating together in community to seek God and have fun is awesome, it is powerful, it is huge. Now think how much more these camps would impact an orphaned child. How much more would the release from a life of hardship into a community of love impact a child like that? We do all we can to create that community of love at the CarePoints every day, but there is no replicating the energy, the focus and the experience of camp.
