Why do Jews vote Democrat when they have money and need Israel support?
American Jews are a unique group with their own set of interests, of which Israel is just one. Because Jews have been persecuted and oppressed, enslaved, exiled and murdered by others throughout their history, American Jews identify with the poor, oppressed, enslaved, etc. American Jews are very much enamored of civil & human rights for all, which was why they were so active in the civil rights movement. That is why basically most American Jews have been traditionally democratic and liberal. For many American Jews these kinds of ‘liberal’ issues trump the issue of Israel. American Jews have always been passionate advocates of freedom and equality and these two things have been the rallying cry of the Democratic Party. That being said, many Jews have become so-called neo-conservatives, mostly those who have come to believe that the number one problem facing the world today is Islamic terror. “Neo-conservative” actually means “new conservative” so even these neo-conservatives are liberal
