Why do jehovah witnesses believe jesus is michael the ARCHANGEL?
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is Jesus, the Son of God, the firstborn of creation. That Jesus also has a possible role as Michael is like a footnoted point to us. Jesus is not defined as Michael to us in any way, and it’s barely ever mentioned. One used to be able to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses without even knowing that Jesus is also possibly Michael. I say that because now our Bible study aid that is used for baptismal candidates – What does the Bible Really Teach? – has an appendix on the subject. But the previous Bible study aid – Knowledge that Leads to Everlasting Life – made no mention of Jesus being Michael. So it was possible to become baptized without knowing the Jesus/Michael connection.
Is there a scripture that says Michael the archangel was Adam? Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is the only-begotten, divine Son of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus is our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer. And Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that “Michael the archangel” may be a role or title among Jesus’ many roles and titles in the Bible. In the New Testament, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 associates Jesus with the archangel. Other verses in the books of Daniel and Revelation describe Michael as doing things that Jesus also does. Jehovah’s Witnesses give no more importance to the matter than the Bible itself does. Our worship of God does not depend on knowing precisely who Michael the archangel is. We worship God in the name of Jesus Christ, and we pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
