Why do I see someone elses NetID in the login box?

Box LOGIN NetID
0

The previous user did not log out out of the login service. When Logout of NetID is selected on the Application Logout page (or some other way you do a logout from the login service, for example, clicking “Log out” from the My UW-Madison Portal), the logged-in user is removed. If a session simply expires, or an application requests re-authentication (such as My UW-Madison), you will see the NetID of the previously (or currently) logged-in person. If you do see someone else’s NetID in the login box, the best thing to do is completely close your browser (all windows) or to clear your cookies.
