Why do I see MAC addresses in the Inventory view under the IP Address column?

If systems are being managed with DMI or CIM, there is no way to correlate an IP address with a MAC address. IT Assistant’s internal data structure does not allow for null IP addresses. Therefore, IT Assistant puts the MAC address in the IP address column when it is not able to link the MAC address with an IP address.
