Why do I receive pop up windows labeled Messenger Service?

These pop-up messages are a result of a service in Windows which is enabled by default. If you go to Settings -> Control Panels -> Administrative Tools -> Services, it’s called Messenger, and if you right click on it, you can set the properties, such as disabled on startup.
