Why do I need the Golf Rules Dictionary as well as the little rules book given free by the R&A / USGA?

Because the Golf Rules Dictionary is easier to understand, colourful – and much more comprehensive – than the little rules book. Also, from 2004 the definition of “rules” has been changed to include all the decisions interpreting the rules, so you need to know these as well – and none of these can be found in the little book.
