Why do i need an mri with glaucoma dx i am 35 yrs old?
It is unusual, but not impossible, for a 35 year-old to develop open angle glaucoma. The eye doctor has ordered an MRI to make sure you don’t have another, possibly serious, cause for optic nerve changes or changes in your peripheral visual field. Most of the time, this MRI will confirm you are normal, but on the off chance you have a brain tumor, aneurysm, or pseudotumor cerebri (for example), you’d want to know it.
